After a long rain, the Waterwatcher built little bridges between the garden beds. The bridges were crooked, but every seedling stayed dry. Its story is a draft interpretation of “Don’t Overwater Your Plants,” not an explanation supplied by the artist.

The Waterwatcher
The Waterwatcher listens to the pots. It knows that a thirsty plant and a worried gardener make very different sounds. It would rather sit beside a sprout than rush it into growing.
