What is Creep Bridges?
Creep Bridges is a free bridge-building puzzle made with twikoi's creatures. Each level is a gap between two cliffs, a few red bolts, and a line of her creatures waiting on the bank.
Drag from a bolt to lay planks (they walk on those), sticks (they hold things up) and ropes (they only pull). Press Go, and the creatures waddle across one by one. Her bigger drawings are heavier, so pieces that held a little one may turn amber, then red, then snap under a big one. A creature that falls lands in a soft pond and climbs out, and you try again with your bridge still there.
Every level runs on the game's own step-by-step physics, so the same bridge always does the same thing. Each level's recorded bridge is played back by our test: every one gets everyone across with three stars, and an empty bridge loses on every level.
How to play
- Lay a piece: drag from a red bolt (or a joint of your bridge) to a dot, and lift. Tap a piece to take it away.
- Planks, sticks, ropes. Creatures walk on planks. Sticks hold joints up from below or above. Ropes from the high bolts on posts only pull.
- Triangles hold. A joint in the middle with nothing under it bends and snaps. A stick from a lower bolt makes a triangle.
- Press Go. They cross one by one. Amber means a piece works hard; red means it is about to snap. Heavy creatures push hardest, and hoppers land with a thump.
- Fewer acorns, more stars. Every piece costs acorns: stay in the ★★★ part of the purse at the top.
Features
- 84 levels in seven chapters, each adding one idea: first steps, heavy feet, a small purse, ropes from posts, a boat lane to keep clear, creatures from both sides, and hoppers.
- Every level comes with a recorded bridge that our test plays back in the real physics: each one gets everyone across with three stars, and taking away any one of its pieces makes it fail.
- Made for fingers: drag from bolt to dot, a magnifier shows where the piece ends and what it costs, a tap takes a piece away, and the page never scrolls.
- Her creatures by weight: light, medium and heavy, from how big she drew them. A guest waits at the end of each chapter.
- A lesson you play, not read: it lets your first bridge fail on purpose, then shows you the triangle that fixes it.
Modes, levels and unlocks
- Chapters
- First steps, Heavy feet, Acorn counting, Ropes, Boat lane, Two ways and Hop hop. Each chapter opens after 8 levels of the one before.
- Daily bridge
- One gap a day, the same for everyone, with the same creatures, and a result to share.
- Lesson
- Three little levels that teach laying a plank, why a joint needs a triangle, and how the acorn purse gives stars.
Tips
- Press Go with your bridge half built: watching where it bends shows you where the next stick goes.
- Look at who is in line: the strip under the page says light, medium or heavy, and which ones hop.
- A short stick from a low bolt on the cliff is often the cheapest way to hold a joint up.
- In the boat lane levels, hold the deck from above: triangles on top, or ropes from the posts.
- Once you have three stars, try again with fewer pieces: your cheapest bridge is kept in your records.
Who will like Creep Bridges?
Creep Bridges is for anyone who likes to build something and watch it work, from a single plank on the first level to roped bridges over a boat lane later on.
It is also for fans of twikoi's art: her creatures, from little faces to her big tee designs, waddle across every bridge you build.
