What is Creep Doku?
Creep Doku is a free picture logic puzzle made with twikoi's drawings. The rule is simple: every row, every column and every box (the squares inside the thick lines) holds each picture exactly once.
There are no numbers to add up: just her drawings, each on its own soft colour so you can tell them apart at a glance. Tiny 4x4 grids are all pictures and great for kids; the 6x6 and the big 9x9 (easy, medium and hard) are for everyone.
Every puzzle is checked before you see it: it has exactly one answer, and a solver that thinks like a person reaches it without guessing. Solve one and a guest creature jumps out from behind the grid.
How to play
- Tap an empty square, then tap a picture in the tray below the grid. Tap the same picture again to take it out.
- One of each: a picture may appear only once in each row, each column and each box.
- Notes (✎) let you jot small pictures in a square while you think. ✎+ fills in every note for you, and placing a picture rubs out the notes it rules out.
- Check (top right) shows a wrong picture in red the moment you place it. Turn it off to play with no help.
- Stuck? The hint lights up where to look and explains why, then Show me places the picture. Undo takes back your last move.
- On a computer: click a square and press 1-9, arrow keys to move, N for notes, Backspace to erase, Z to undo, H for a hint.
Features
- Five levels: Tiny 4x4 (all pictures, for kids), Small 6x6, and Big 9x9 in easy, medium and hard, with new puzzles every time.
- Every puzzle has exactly one answer, proven by an answer counter and solvable by thinking alone.
- Hints that teach: they show the row, column or box to look at, draw lines to the pictures that block the other squares, and explain the trick in plain words.
- A lesson you play, not read: four guided moves on a little 4x4, then you finish it yourself.
- Picture sets: twelve sets of her drawings (little things and creatures) that open with stars, each measured so every picture looks different.
- A guest creature behind every puzzle (85 to meet), a picture page every 4 puzzles, three stars for no hints and no mistakes.
- Two daily puzzles (a 6x6 and a 9x9) that are the same for everyone, with a result to share and a days-in-a-row count.
Modes, levels and unlocks
- Puzzles
- Tiny 4x4, Small 6x6 and Big 9x9 easy are open from the start. Medium opens after 2 easy puzzles, Hard after 3 medium.
- Daily puzzles
- A 6x6 mini and a 9x9 every day, the same for everyone. The 9x9 is easy early in the week and hard at the weekend.
- Lesson
- A little 4x4 that teaches rows, columns, boxes and the 'only one fits' idea, one move at a time.
Tips
- Look for a box, row or column with only one empty square: the missing picture goes there.
- Pick one picture and look for where it can still go in each box: often there is only one spot.
- When a square sees all the other pictures in its row, column and box, only one is left for it.
- On big grids, ✎+ fills in every note. Then look for a square with a single note.
- If two squares in a row can only hold the same two pictures, no other square in that row can hold them.
