What is Creep Isles?

Creep Isles is a free turn-based strategy game made with twikoi's art. You start with one village and one creature on a little island. Rival tribes live on the other isles, and clouds hide everything nobody has seen yet.

Each turn your villages make ink. Spend it to gather the fruit, plants, swimmers and fallen stars on your land so your villages grow, to learn skills, and to train more creatures. Walk onto empty villages to claim them, and out-grow the rivals before the last turn, or take every village.

How to play

  1. Move. Tap one of your creatures, then tap a glowing tile. Forests and hills stop a move; the water needs Paddling or Sailing.
  2. Grow. Tap the fruit, plants, swimmers or fallen stars on your land and spend ink to gather them. Each one helps a village grow; a bigger village makes more ink, looks after more creatures and picks a gift.
  3. Claim. Walk a creature onto an empty village and tap Claim. Rival villages can be taken the same way once nobody stands on them.
  4. Learn. Open Skills to cross the water, gather new things and train Spitters, Rollers, Flyers, Horned and Giants.
  5. Fight. Tap a rival next to your creature: the game shows exactly what will happen before you hit. Undo takes back a move that found nothing new.

Her art in this game

Every creature, villager, giant, fruit, plant, swimmer, fallen star, butterfly and picture is one of her drawings, shown just as she drew it: only moved, scaled, flipped, faded or squashed as it hops and fights. The sea, islands, huts, banners, borders and clouds are plain shapes and colours. Tribes are told apart by plain colour rings and a shape (● ▲ ■ ◆) next to her art, never by changing it. What kind of creature a drawing can be comes from what she drew (legs walk, wings fly, open mouths spit, round ones roll, horns hit hard), and the game asks for kinds of drawings, so new drawings join the isles without changing the game.
