What is Creep March?
Creep March is a free parade puzzle made with twikoi's creatures. Each level has a hollow log, a burrow door with a heart flag, and ground in between: soft dirt, grey stone, gaps over a pond, tall walls.
Her creatures hop out of the log one by one and march along by themselves. They step up little bumps, turn round at walls and walk off edges. Pick a job in the tray and tap one: it digs down, tunnels through soft dirt, lays a stair of steps, stops so the others turn round, climbs a tall wall and leaves a ladder, or floats down on a heart balloon. Get enough of them home.
Every level runs on the game's own step-by-step rules, so the same jobs at the same moments always do the same thing. Each level's recorded answer is played back by our test: every one is won with three stars, and doing nothing loses on every level.
How to play
- Pick a job, tap a walker. The one nearest your finger gets it; a ring shows who, and on a phone a magnifier shows it big.
- Six jobs. Dig goes down, Tunnel goes sideways (soft dirt only, never stone), Steps lays 12 steps up and ahead, Stop turns the others round, Climb leaves a ladder, Float is a heart balloon.
- Pause and still give jobs. ❚❚ freezes the parade, ⏭ steps forward a little, ⏩ goes fast, 🐾− and 🐾+ let them out of the log slower or faster.
- Careful. A drop that is too long bonks, and the pond is wet: they sit out the try (they are fine).
- Stars. One for enough home, two for as many as can be, three for that with few jobs, in good time.
Features
- 84 levels in seven chapters, each teaching one idea: dig down, hold the line, step bridges, tunnels, up and over, soft landings, and all together.
- Every level comes with a recorded answer that our test plays back in the real rules: each one wins with three stars, every job in it matters, and doing nothing loses.
- Made for fingers: forgiving taps on the nearest creature, a magnifier, pause-and-give, step forward, fast forward and a parade-speed control.
- A lesson you play, not read: it waits on a dotted spot for the move it is teaching, and says why when you try another.
- A book of every creature that marched home, her picture pages, a guest at the door at the end of each chapter, and a daily march.
Modes, levels and unlocks
- Chapters
- Dig down, Hold the line, Step bridges, Tunnels, Up and over, Soft landings and All together. Each chapter opens after 8 levels of the one before.
- Daily march
- One level a day, the same for everyone, with the same creatures, and a result to share.
- Lesson
- Four little levels: dig, stop, steps (picking the job yourself), then one on your own.
Tips
- Pause first and look: where is the soft dirt, where is the stone, where does the parade go if nobody stops it?
- Give a tunnel before the wall: the tunneler starts when it gets there.
- Builders are slow: let the parade out slower with 🐾−, or hold the others with a stopper and tap it again with ✋ to let it go.
- One climber is enough for a wall: it leaves a ladder for everyone behind it.
- For the third star, try again with fewer jobs and let them out faster with 🐾+.
Who will like Creep March?
Creep March is for anyone who likes a puzzle that moves: a plan, a few well-timed taps, and a crowd that makes it home.
It is also for fans of twikoi's art: her creatures march through every level, and her big tee designs wait at the door.
