What is Creep Blocks?

Creep Blocks is a free block puzzle game made entirely from twikoi's drawings. You drag three pieces at a time onto an 8 by 8 board. When a row or a column is full, it bursts, and every tile flies off as the little drawing it carries.

There is no timer and nothing falls. The only way to lose is to run out of room, so every piece is a small decision: where does it fit now, and where will the next big one go?

Gold tiles hold her creatures: clear their line and they join your collection. In Adventure, paper hides one of her 22 pictures behind the board, and every line you clear across it peels a strip away.

How to play

  1. Drag a piece onto the board and let go. On a phone the piece floats above your finger, so you can see where it goes.
  2. Fill a row or a column to make it burst. Fill two or more at once for a lot more points.
  3. Keep a streak going: clear again within three placements and every clear scores more. A line of all one colour gives a bonus.
  4. Clear a gold tile's line to free the creature inside it.
  5. Watch the tray: a faded piece doesn't fit anywhere yet. When none of your pieces fit, the game is over.
  6. On a computer you can also drag with the mouse, or press 1, 2 or 3 to pick a piece, the arrow keys to move it and Enter to drop it.

Her art in this game

Every creature, motif and picture is one of her drawings, shown just as she drew it: only moved, turned, scaled, flipped or faded. The tiles, the board, the paper and the ink blots are plain shapes and colours, and each tile colour also has its own window shape. Her pictures are never cut up: each one sits whole behind the board, and the paper over it peels away.
