Creep Merge: a free drop-and-merge puzzle

What is Creep Merge?

Creep Merge is a drop-and-merge puzzle, the kind where you drop pieces into a jar and two matching pieces squish together into a bigger one. Here every piece is one of twikoi's creatures, and the shapes are traced from her drawings, so they roll, lean and pile up like real things.

Each jar has its own chain of 11 creatures, from tiny to huge. The first five can drop from the top; everything above that you have to make by merging. A ladder beside the jar shows the whole chain and lights up as you reach each creature.

The jar slowly fills, and the game ends when creatures pile up above the dashed line for too long.

How to play

Slide left and right above the jar to aim. On a computer you can use the arrow keys.
Let go (or press Space) to drop the creature.
When two of the same creature touch, they squish into the next creature in the chain.
Merges that set off more merges make a chain for ×2, ×3 and more points.
Keep creatures under the dashed line. If one rests above it for a couple of seconds, the jar is full and the game ends.

Modes, levels and unlocks

Play: A new jar with a new chain every time. Your best score is kept.
Daily jar: Everyone gets the same chain and the same drops for the day, with a copyable result to share.
Medals: Score medals at 3,000, 8,000, 15,000 and 25,000 points.

Tips

Keep the big creatures on one side and drop small ones on the other.
Do not bury a small creature under big ones. You will need it to merge later.
Look at the next creature (top right) before you aim.
A drop that sets off two merges at once is worth far more than two separate merges.

Who will like Creep Merge?

Creep Merge is for fans of drop-and-merge puzzles who want something that looks different from fruit. Each jar has a new chain, so you never know which of her creatures will be at the top, and part of the fun is seeing what the next step looks like.

Runs are short enough for a break and long enough to plan in. If you like games where one lucky drop sets off a whole chain of merges, this one is for you.
