What is Look Closer?
Look Closer is a hidden-object game where the picture will not sit still. Dozens of twikoi's drawings drift, orbit, flow like a river or spin in a mirror pattern, and five particular creatures are hiding somewhere in the crowd.
Their pictures are shown at the bottom of the screen. Your job is to spot each one in the moving mural and tap it. Found creatures leap out of the mural and fly into their card, and at the end all five parade across the screen.
It is quick to learn, calming to look at, and surprisingly tricky once the murals speed up.
How to play
- Look at the five creature cards at the bottom. Each of them hides exactly once in the mural.
- Tap a creature in the mural when you spot it.
- A wrong tap adds 3 seconds to your time. Two finds within a few seconds of each other win 2 seconds back.
- Hold still on the mural to look through a magnifying loupe. Letting go does not count as a tap.
- Pinch or scroll to zoom, and drag to look around.
- Stuck? Tap ๐ for a hint loupe that hovers near a hidden creature. It costs 5 seconds and you get 3 per mural.
Features
- Ten murals that move in different ways: drifting, orbiting, flowing, mirrored and twisting.
- The mural speeds up a little after every find, so the last creature is the hardest.
- A magnifying loupe for close looks, plus pinch and scroll zoom.
- Creatures leap out and fly into their card when you find them.
- Medals for your total stars across all ten murals.
- A results card with the creatures you found and links to meet them on her site.
Modes, levels and unlocks
- Ten murals
- Garden Drift, Spiral Galaxy, Ink River, Kaleidoscope and Twister, then faster, busier versions: Garden Storm, Galaxy Rush, Rapids, Hall of Mirrors and Hurricane. Stars open new murals.
- Stars and medals
- Each mural has a par time. Finish under it for 3 stars, under twice the par for 2. Medals come at 8, 16, 24 and 30 total stars.
- Daily puzzle
- One seeded mural a day, the same for everyone, with a copyable result to share.
Tips
- Pick one creature card and hunt only for that one. Scanning for all five at once is slower.
- Look for the outline, not the details. Shapes are easier to catch while things move.
- Do not tap at random: three wrong taps cost more than one hint.
- In the mirror murals, watch the middle. Everything passes through it.
Who will like Look Closer?
Look Closer is for people who enjoy hidden-object pictures and "where's the little guy" books, and for anyone who likes to slow down and really look at art. Each mural is a dense, moving collage of twikoi's drawings, so you notice new creatures every time.
It also works well as a shared game: one person holds the phone, everyone else shouts where they spotted a creature.
